Terms of Use

Last updated: August 16, 2026

These Terms of Use apply to the RevertIt browser extension and the RevertIt informational website.

Purpose of RevertIt

RevertIt is designed to help users recover eligible browser drafts and browser workspaces after accidental loss or disruption. Recovery is best-effort. No software can guarantee recovery of every edit, field, page, tab, crash, device failure, browser change, or website configuration.

Your responsibility for important data

RevertIt is not a substitute for saving important work in the service where it belongs or for maintaining appropriate backups. A very recent edit can be lost before a local checkpoint finishes writing, and browser or device storage can be cleared, corrupted, removed, or become unavailable.

Sensitive information

RevertIt is designed to skip many password, payment, authentication, key, and similarly sensitive fields, but websites do not all label fields consistently. Do not rely on RevertIt as a password manager, payment vault, secret manager, or encrypted storage service.

Local storage and backups

The current release stores recovery information locally in browser extension storage. Exported RevertIt backup files are user-controlled files and are not encrypted by RevertIt.

Founding Launch Access

The current launch build may make advanced recovery features available under Founding Launch Access. This does not represent a paid purchase or subscription. Future paid plans, hosted services, or AI features may have additional or updated terms before they are offered.

Acceptable use

Do not use RevertIt to violate law, access information you are not authorized to access, interfere with websites or browser security, or capture another person's information without authorization.

Software changes

RevertIt may be updated to improve compatibility, security, recovery behavior, privacy protections, browser support, or product functionality. Features may change as browsers and websites change.

Disclaimer

To the extent permitted by applicable law, RevertIt is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without a guarantee that recovery will always succeed or that the software will be error-free or uninterrupted.
